PRESIDENT Jackson has been criticized
for his forced removal of the Cherokee Indians. They were a civilized tribe, and won a court decision to remain
on their land. But Jackson expelled
them, so that Whites could have their land. The entire culture of modern America is to apologize,
endlessly, to the Native Indians, because the European based federal governments
treated them badly, breaking treaties, and attempting cultural genocide.
However, it is now clear that the apologizing was all wrong. The cultural and physical genocide were quite justified. Here is why. The current Liberal establishment is terribly disgusted by the mere thought of torture being inflicted with government approval. I, myself, have heard it offered that, even to save thousands of innocent lives, torture could never, never, never be used. And the Liberals want George Bush slowly roasted over a fire because… well, because he is, or was, George Bush. This is, apparently, the only justified use of torture.
And this is most ironic as this is what many Indian tribes used to do to their innocent captives. As best I can determine, all Indian tribes, except maybe the Nez Perez, tortured almost everyone, including women and infants. Torture was a common form of entertainment. It was an important part of their Native American culture.
According to the Liberals, such actions are inexcusable under any and all circumstances, and any such advocates of such behavior should be punished… and eliminated from “their America.” So the re-education, by forced removal and reservation confinements, were, in the Liberal mind, not only justified but also holy.
The highly moral Jackson was simply slightly ahead of his time.
