AS it has been a few weeks since the killing of Obama bin Laden, the “story” should be clear by now. However, it is not. I consider this a fine example of how the Mass Media can not be relied upon for information. Even though the Media is not reliable, I must rely upon some of its “facts,” as I have no other sources. The man whom my organization planted in the bin Laden organization, as the official sissy manicurist, was eliminated before he could file his final report.
According to the Media reports the following happened. One, bin Obama was “home” for a long time, for at least six months. Two, US spies were observing him for this time. Three, the Pakistani Military/Intelligence units must have known that he was there. This is “proved” by the following facts. Four, the town in which he lived (and died) was near a major military base. Five, the house was “unusual.” So, the conclusion goes, the Pakistanis knew, but did not inform the US. Thus they are not to be trusted. This also means that not only should the Pakistanis not be told about future missions, but also aid from the USA to them should be eliminated. After all, they need to be either with us or against us (as some former President said), right?
Let us analyze this. Well, let me do it, as I am the expert. I am a professional on a closed course. So do not attempt. Perhaps my main objection is against the flagrant lack of rationality, rather than the conflicting versions.
The underlying assumption for this resultant anti-Pakistani feeling is that the Pakistanis would tell the terrorists of what the US plans. Let me go over the facts, again. If the Pakistanis “MUST have known” where bin Laden was living then why was he still there? Why did they not tell him to get away? After all, they MUST have known of him, and, equally so, they MUST have known of the US spies, living in the neighborhood, watching, though binoculars, every day for six months. So they must have not alerted anyone. It must have been a conscious decision not to help the terrorist cause, and to help the US.
The critics can not have both versions, as they are exclusive. The Pakistanis did not tell Osaka Barack, or they did not know he was there. They were either loyal or not too skilled. Neither condition is any reason to insult or undercut an ally in a very dangerous part of the world.
I may offer some additional comments on this subject in the next session.
