ALAN Combs (I believe that I am spelling his name correctly) is a superior political Liberal. He has been a host on radio and TV shows. These days he is often a commentator on FOX Cable News. I refer to him as superior because, in so much as he can be, he seems to be both candid and honest. He admits that Liberals commit errors. And he is vigorous, and sometime humorous, in attacking Conservative positions. This is easy as most Conservatives are unable to support their (primarily emotional and fundamentally contradictory) views.
I refer to him because, officially, such Liberals can not be racists. In fact, Alan, as do all real Liberals, over defends Blacks when they do wrong, excusing their failures and misbehavior. I refer to some comment he made some time ago on a Fox News show. I do not remember the exact words, and they are not important. As Thucydides established many years ago, attribution of what was probably said is as valid as repetition of exact quotes.
What he said was something like this. “The Black Community sees X differently because…” etc. This American Black “community” does not live in one place. Its members live in every state of the union. So what makes them a community can NOT be a common localized value system. By definition, the cause has to be color and nothing else. Nothing else can form or define this community. I repeat: this term (and it is used by almost everyone, including officially non racist commentators) has to mean that skin color, and this alone, unites a group of people into a cohesive group.
This may be an obvious fact, but analyzing the obvious is often useful in understanding fundamental truths. From this fact another follows. The Black “experience” makes them different from others. This experience means living within a darker skin color. And this means, as logic mandates, that Black people are different from non-Blacks. At least according to Alan Combs type Liberals, and these people can not be racists.
Hold a moment! Is this not precisely the opposite what the official white Liberal position? Have the white Liberals not be preaching that skin color really makes no difference? The whole concept of forced integration was based upon the premise that “they are just like we are.” But IF such a thing as a Black Community does exist (and Alan says that it does, not I), THEN its members are different simply because they are black. Communities always mean not only inclusion and membership, but also exclusion and differences, that is it must necessarily mean non-equality.
Thus, if Alan is to be accepted, Blacks are different, inherently so. Then there is a possibility that, at least in some areas, they are “not as equal” after all. And even I will not pursue this any further. I do not wish to be excluded from my community.
