THIS is an attack on part of the Mass Media. It consists of some background and one specific comment. I include Public Broadcasting System in this category. PBS (the official “state run media”) has numerous public radio stations and TV channels. I suppose that it was/is intended to provide culture and education to the masses.
I have to add this “disclaimer.” I watch a lot of PBS on TV. My own cable system has about 150 PBS channels. A lot of the shows, particularly the ones on history or animals, are interesting, if not always correct. I also shall add this comment. A whole of its content is boring, wrong, and liberal. Its slant is totally pro-abortion and in favor of believing “global climate change.” Liberals support PBS, and PBS reruns the favor.
Let me add another comment that I hope you find interesting. Whenever PBS wants money (which seems to be about once a week!), they run pledge drives. Hosts and friends spend endless hours begging and boring. They warn that if money is not received then the system may have to run commercials. Yet almost every program has sponsors, who are identified before the show begins. These sponsors are often for-profit companies such as car makers. So before the show begins we are told how wonderful a Lexus is, with details about handling and styling. And this is NOT a commercial? I do not object to commercials. I object to lying (when it is done by others towards me, and then only sometimes). When the money drives are on the PBS channels present “viewers’ favorites.” That is, the shows that people actually like are shown. When the money goals are met, the elites who run the system go back to the old standards (favoring abortion and belief in climate changes, and, sometimes, cute animals).
Recently Tom Brokaw was a guest on a PBS radio show. I suppose that he wrote a book… or maybe he read one. Tom, in case you do not know, was (still is?) a TV network broadcaster. It is a fitting sign of our times that a man who has a significant speech defect would get a high profile job where his SOLE responsibility was to speak clearly! There is no limit to how high a man can rise in America… if he favors abortion and believes in climate change. Tom was commenting on the economy. He pointed out that the housing crisis had affects on other sections. He rightly pointed out that the lack of home ownership leads to a decline in the demand for products such as rugs, appliances, etc. Then he added that---recall this is in reference to NOT owning a home!---this also prevented people from moving to a place where they could get a new job. I repeat: owning a house makes it EASIER to move to a new location, and not owning a house makes it more difficult. Tom is apparently a close economic advisor to the current administration.
The host, because Tom is pro-abortion and a believer in climate change, did not correct him. I, being neither, do, here and now. My attack is over. Enjoy the rest of the day (tom-orrow too).
