There is an old saying, “Those whom the gods would destroy they first make mad.” This installment is based upon a news report. It told of a crime. Before I present it, let me present a seldom used philosophical term, namely solipsism. This term means a mindset, or perhaps, more correctly, a mindless set. It is a belief by which only what a person individually experiences will be accepted as real. In other words truth is a matter of permission or inclination. There is no objective external reality
Upon first hearing the term most will find it so ridiculous that we see no need for it. How could anyone hold to such a standard? Read on.
A man in North Carolina had a “classic problem.” His girlfriend was pregnant with his unwanted (by him) child. He secretly gave her an abortion pill that killed the child. He was convicted of some related crime and sentenced to prison.
However, had the exact same action been done by the mother, with the exact same results, no crime would have been committed. In fact her action would have been declared the legal exercise of a fundamental legal right. In other word, godless like, she can create a new reality but it is the same by which the man was punished. This is solipsism, is it not?
I draw a valid conclusion from this. The school shootings are, really, only young men exercising their rights to do with their bodies what they choose. They chose to have their fingers pull triggers. And, exactly as with women, this right of bodily choice is inviolable.
I fully realize that the anti-abortion movement on occasion manages minor victories, such as the one noted above. Occasionally the righteous manage to obtain legal status for some of the unborn. And these compromises are the best that they can achieve. God bless them for this. My point is simply this: the nation is now one that legally defines rights to what does not exist (unless a woman wants him to), or vice versa. Truth is a matter, no longer of meaning. It is now a matter of whimsy.
Apparently the gods have something major planned for the USA, and perhaps the Western World.
